GIS in Healthcare

The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC) is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual GIS in Healthcare / Human Services Conference to be held May 15, 2008 at Algoma U in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.

The event is co-hosted by ESRI Canada and will focus on GIS (geographic information systems) solutions in healthcare through real-life examples and best practices.
The agenda is packed full of expert demonstrations, networking opportunities and guest speakers. Most health problems have geographic context and understanding issues ranging from medical epidemiology to healthcare access in that context can enhance research, save money and improve service delivery. The SSMIC will be demonstrating some of the successes they’ve had through GIS with their healthcare and human services clients and partners.

The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC) is increasingly being recognized as a leader in this field and for operating one of the best community-based GIS models in the world.

On May 15th, join us for the 3rd Annual GIS in Healthcare Conference - and discover how SSMIC has developed partnerships among virtually ALL local community groups, the city, hospitals, law enforcement, and more, to deliver a holistic view of the Sault - something no other community has done.

Last year’s event was a great success and 2008 promises more of the same. Stay tuned for more developments on this exciting event!
