Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC) and Algoma University’s Invasive Species Research Institute (ISRI) are organizing the second annual Advanced Research and Technology Innovation Expo (ARTIE) for National Science and Technology Week. This event is geared towards elementary students of all ages. We are planning events that are tailored to students in different age groups. Some of the events and exhibitors we are planning to include are:

It is estimated that it will take approximately one and half hours to visit all the activities. Schools are welcome to bring more than one class to ARTIE, however we ask that you please indicate the different grades and number of students in each grade on the sign up sheet. We also ask that you indicate whether you will be attending the morning or afternoon session. Please fax complete forms to the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre by 5:00 pm on Friday October 9th, 2008.
If it is not possible for any of your classes to attend ARTIE we ask that you send the students home with the information and colouring contest sheets for their parents to review. We are holding an evening session on October 15th from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm for parents who would like to bring their children to the event.
