GIS Training for Data Analysis Coordinators of Ontario (2011-2014)

GIS Training for Data Analysis Coordinators of Ontario (2011-2014)

Client: Data Analysis Coordinators for the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS) and the Ministry of Education (MEDU)

Data analysis coordinators (DACs) across Ontario are realizing the value of using GIS in their work, for comprehensive Early Development Instrument (EDI) reports and for general data analysis. DACs have access to ArcGIS software but many have not been trained on how to use it. The CGC was asked to design a two day instructor-led course teaching GIS general knowledge and step-by-step GIS instructions for DAC mapping.  The CGC has delivered this course on several occasions, both at the CGC office and off-site.  Recipients of the DAC training have been pleased and excited by what they can accomplish using the software.  Several CGC trained DACs have since completed EDI mapping reports for their ridings.
