2009 to Present

SSMIC developed and implemented the Sault Ste. Marie Child Care Application Site for the District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board's (DSSMSSAB) Community Child Care Services Division. This custom developed, hosted, web-based centralized daycare waitlist solution is currently meeting the needs of the community, including the general public, parents/guardians, child care providers, early learning resources and the DSSMSSAB itself. The solution was launched on October 5th, 2009 culminating approximately 10 months of user needs, development and training. A reduction in administration time associated with parents applying for services as well as providers managing the wait lists is anticipated through the use of this centralized solution. The solution also includes an ArcGIS Server based component which allows parents to find the child care location closest to where they work or live.
